The nominees for the 32nd Annual Razzie Awards have been released and its a record-setting year…..for Adam Sandler.
With 3 critically lambasted movies in 2011, Sandler easily smashed Eddie Murphy’s old record for most individual nominations in a year with 11 nominations. Sandler set the new mark by being an actor, writer and/or producer for Jack & Jill, Bucky Larson Born to be a Star and Just Go With It.
Sandler’s Jack & Jill led all films with 12 total nominations, also one of the highest Razzie totals ever. Also nominated for Worst Movie are New Year’s Eve, Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Bucky Larson and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 1.
Some of the Hollywood stars joining Sandler for the dubious Worst Acting categories include Taylor Lautner, James Franco, Al Pacino, Katie Holmes, Nicolas Cage, Russell Brand, Sarah Jessica Parker and Sarah Palin for playing herself!

Adam has made movie history!
Sandler’s Jack and Jill managed a Razzies first, claiming 10 awards to sweep every single awards category. Razzie winners usually are announced the night before the Oscars, but organizers this time decided to move out of Hollywood’s busy awards season and do their show on April Fool’s Day. It is expected that the Razzies will move back to Oscars weekend again next year though. It wasn’t a total lost weekend for Adam Sandler though: he did manage to win a Best Actor award at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards. Of course, those are chosen by you know, young kids…..

Now that they’ve been around for 30 years and many winning actors actually show up at the ceremonies, the Razzie Awards have become a legitimate event. Although, no movie or celebrity still wants to find themselves on the nominations list.
