The summer 2012 television season is now upon us. All the big regular network shows have shown their season finales and wrapped up until next fall but that doesn’t mean there won’t be fresh TV shows to watch over the summer months. We take a look at what to expect this summer.
Returning TV shows this summer include:
Falling Skies: Spielberg’s alien action series is back for season 2, starting in June on TNT
The Newsroom: HBO’s much buzzed about new Aaron Sorkin show debuts on June 24th
Dallas: the classic primetime soap opera from the 1980s is back, and with some of the same actors and characters including JR Ewing
Big Brother: the long running CBS summer reality series returns for another edition, starting in July
True Blood: the Vampire Authority is back, new episodes start on June 10th
Anger Management: winning! Charlie Sheen returns to TV with this new FX series on June 28th
Wilfred and Louie: also returning to FX with new seasons on June 28th
Episodes: this underappreciated comedy debuts season 2 on Showtime on July 1st
Franklin and Bash: TNT’s lawyer dramedy returns for its second season, starting on June 5th
Futurama: brand new episodes on Cartoon Network this June
Breaking Bad: the 5th and final season for AMC’s Emmy Award winning series starts on July 15th
Other TV series to watch for this summer include Boss on Showtime, The Great Escape, Warehouse 13, Leverage, Glass House, USA’s Necessary Roughness, Royal Pains, Wipeout and The Secret Life of the American Teenager.
