The image used in the design of this new movie poster depicts the interior of the facility that “farms” blood from some the remaining live human beings left in the year 2019. In this futuristic drama directed by the Spierig Brothers (”Undead“), the human race has morphed into vampires as a result of a very nasty plague. In this film, Ethan Hawke (”Training Day” & “Gattaca“) plays a researcher who discovers what may be a vaccine that could save the human race. He enjoins the support of a roguish band of anti-vampire dissidents led by a character appropriately named as Elvis (Willem Dafoe). “We’re the folks with the crossbows” to fight the bad guys who have plans of their own. The trailer looks really cool with a lush and futuristic art and set design that harkens back to the first “Matrix” movie. This flick looks like a keeper. We’ll have to wait for January 8th, 2010 to find out if the movie is as good as the trailer looks.
