The Dark Knight Rises Movie Preview

Tuesday, October 4th, 2011

Sequels are always much hyped movies but this one just might be one of the most anticipated sequels in recent years. The next chapter in The Dark Knight series comes to theatres worldwide on July 12, 2012. The internet has been a-buzz for many months with snippets on the film, and with leaked photos from the production sets in Pittsburgh. We’ve seen photos of Anne Hathaway in her Catwoman suit, as well as some peeks at the new Batmobile. Christian Slater is back of course in the lead role and Christopher Nolan is directing again, although he has stated this will be his last work on the billion dollar film franchise. Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Liam Neeson are join the cast. In addition to Catwoman, The Dark Knight Rises will also have the new character Bane in it.

Rumors say that the Catwoman character won’t be a villain in the film but more likely a vigilante similar to Batman, and early reports indicate the plot will be somewhat dark, which isn’t a surprise based on the end of the past film. The first posters and photos are now in stock for The Dark Knight Rises! Expect more to arrive in coming months.

Eddie Murphy to Host Next Academy Awards

Thursday, September 8th, 2011

It’s official: Eddie Murphy will be the next host of the Academy Awards. Oscars producer Brett Ratner is trying to bring more comedy to the telecast, so cue Eddie! Ratner released a statement saying “Eddie is a comedic genius, one of the greatest and most influential live performers ever. With his love of movies, history of crafting unforgettable characters and his iconic performances — especially on stage — I know he will bring excitement, spontaneity and tremendous heart to the show Don and I want to produce in February.”

Yes, the star of such infamous Hollywood ‘classics’ The Adventures of Pluto Nash, Norbit, The Nutty Professor, Meet Dave and Dr. Dolittle, will now have the pressure of delivering a memorable funny Oscars telecast in 2012. We welcome this seemingly off-beat hosting choice – time to shake up the much too long, too slow and too boring Academy Awards telecasts.
