Most Expensive Movie Collectibles of 2011



2011 was a good year in movie collectibles. There was some incredible prices paid for rare movie collectibles, including an astonishing $5.6 million paid for the dress Marilyn Monroe wore in The Seven Year Itch. The dress was of course made famous in the scene where Marilyn stands over a subway grate and the wind blows the dress up.
So what other items made the 2011 list of the 10 Most Expensive Movie Collectibles of the year? Women were popular this year as in addition to Marilyn Monroe, items from Audrey Hepburn, Judy Garland and Julie Andrews were also on the list. Hepburn’s My Fair Lady dress was the second biggest sale item of the year, fetching $4.5 million. Other movies in the Top 10 include The Wizard of Oz, The Sound of Music, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes and Citizen Kane.
